'Living a Nightmare': Loved Ones of Unaccounted For Teenagers Desperately Seek News After Ski Resort Fire

The loved ones of teens lost after a tragic fire at a bar in a Swiss winter destination are confronting an agonising period of uncertainty for answers and pleading for any details about their loved ones via social media.

The inferno devastated the a popular bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the middle of the night of the first day of the year. Verified images show the roof structure being engulfed in flames as bottles with fireworks are raised in celebration.

Officials have warned that it could take considerable time to identify the those who perished of the disaster, which resulted in the death of 40 people and hurt another over a hundred. Officials noted on the latest update that 113 of the injured have been accounted for, with the process continuing to identify the final individuals.

In the waiting period, relatives have been taking to online platforms to appeal for any news about their friends who were at the bar that fateful night.

Appeals for the Unaccounted For

The whereabouts of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, 16, are not yet determined, according to an heartfelt request from his parent.

"A companion informed me they ran away after the fire broke out and that he had his mobile with him, but then at a specific moment he lost sight of him," she explained, adding he had been wearing a distinctive piece of jewelry.

One of his educators commented, "I remember his kindness and smile, coupled with great maturity. Every time offer to get me a coffee."

Alice Kallergis, who holds dual Swiss and Greek nationality but lives full-time in Switzerland, was also at the bar on that night, according to sources.

Her brother has shared an appeal online, saying the relatives has had "no information" regarding the 15-year-old or the group she was with, who are also unaccounted for.

Officials from her other nation say they are continuing to monitor the developments.
