Skydance Paramount Will Cut Approximately 2,000 US Jobs – News
Paramount Skydance plans to start mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, cutting about 2,000 American roles within a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn led by CEO David Ellison.
The layoffs come after the merger between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized this past August worth $8.4bn.
Further international job cuts are likely, with Paramount Skydance planning to reveal all specifics via its Q3 financial results on 10 November.
Previous updates suggested that Paramount was looking to eliminate from 2,000 and 3,000 jobs by early November.
As of December 2024, the company retained about 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts along with 3,500 temporary project employees.
Paramount Skydance did not immediately respond on the matter.
