Shot-stopper
Alphonse Areola (West Ham): The Hammers might have been trailing by six at Bournemouth but for him. Key display, delivered and demonstrated top ability. Superb shot-stopping to help achieve a 2-2 draw. Defeat would have damaged their campaign.
Defensive unit
Daniel Munoz (Crystal Palace): He's a contender for top performer. Many discuss Gunners' stars. He has been the top performer by a country mile.
Murillo (Nottingham Forest): You'd have been a crazy Forest fan to say 'He scores and we defeat Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield'. You could have gotten long shots on that. He was excellent. He is emerging as a force. He can really be a handful. Pleased to watch him perform similar to before.
Malick Thiaw (Newcastle): I saw him a few times the previous season in Italy for AC Milan and he struggled because he was making mistakes. But at Newcastle he's been dominant. He displays great strength and forceful and seems polished. It looks like he's found a perfect fit.
Ferdi Kadioglu (Brighton): Not usually a defender, leaning towards a attacking-minded offensively. He has proven to be a great purchase for Brighton. Few are astonished at them discovering another star from obscurity? It seemed when they got rid of Pervis Estupinan it was odd but the Seagulls understand better than most.
Midfielders
Sander Berge (Fulham) and Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest): Two of the same type and they are selected for the shared purpose. Their clubs triumphed, everyone will talk those who netted, but absent these individuals the squads falter. They are so good. They disrupt opposition, they attack together.
Eberechi Eze (Arsenal): The man of the moment. A lot of followers, including my son, were questioning about his ability as the man to secure victory. A hat-trick in the local rivalry and currently fans desire to honor him permanently of him. Finishing, poise, he controlled the game. The top performer on the pitch.
Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa): Possibly the only point of agreement with Thomas Tuchel on - he has got to a point now where it will prove extremely tough to drop Morgan Rogers. I didn't think he had a great start to the season, I think he acted with some expectation and hoped he might have got a move to Chelsea, and probably wanted that, but he seems to have settled down. Two superb finishes obviously against Leeds helped his club when trailing. He proved decisive.
Strikers
Callum Wilson (West Ham): I mentioned he seemed lacking his typical form. He appeared as if he was slower. But wow. Simply phenomenal. He was excellent. Phenomenal in his approach and in his dual goals.
Harvey Barnes (Newcastle): A particularly intriguing player. He performs strongly, usually better off the bench, but with Gordon sidelined so he has to play. He failed to convert a key opening against Manchester City at 0-0 with his simplest attempt. But to have the mental fortitude to put himself in difficult situations and score twice was impressive.
Manager
Sean Dyche (Nottingham Forest): He steps in and surpasses Arne Slot. A excellent strategy. It might have been five or six for Forest and all would agree.
